As a long-standing company whose main focus is on fastening technology for timber engineering and deck construction and landscaping, we consistently offer our customers professional service and innovative options for a variety of construction projects. Using quality-tested and patented screw solutions, we carry out all kinds of complex timber constructions and major deck projects around the world.
By expanding our in-house production, we are evolving from a retailer to a full-service supplier for screw and plastic production. To that end, the production halls will be doubled and the machine fleet will undergo an expansion.
Over the past two years, a lot has contributed to this decision since it has been influenced by major fluctuations in the global supply chain for raw materials. The daily challenges of procuring the necessary goods from the Asian region and ultimately obtaining them were clearly present. Orders that have already been confirmed have been massively delayed or no longer delivered to production facilities. As a result, the German market for connectors suffered from both the delay in finished goods and the shortage of raw materials. Consequently, the manufacturers in Asia became increasingly unprofitable, added to which are the rising freight costs and negative ecological aspects that were becoming increasingly influential. Furthermore, the introduction of import restrictions greatly diminishes the economic advantage of Asia. Therefore, due to the coronavirus crisis, there is a clear trend that sees procurement markets moving back to Europe.
Because of this, we have made it our goal to provide the domestic timber processing industry with sufficient capacity and to cover current market demands. This need is mainly required for constructing social housing made of timber. The current situation on the housing market illustrates a lack of affordable housing. Sustainable prefabricated timber construction is becoming an increasingly popular form of creating living space in social housing construction since it entails many advantages. For projects of this kind, we can locally produce the required amounts of fasteners in order to catch up precisely in this aspect.
In-house screw production is prominent in this regard. By entrepreneurially developing simple wood construction screws into innovative high-performance connectors, we are bringing and developing the corresponding know-how in house to make ourselves as independent from third parties as possible. Furthermore, this allows for monitoring our own factory’s production of high-quality fasteners.
In our production, an increasingly greater percentage of our screw assortment and various plastic products are being produced for deck construction and landscaping. The current focus there is on partially and fully threaded wood construction screws with a length of 160 mm and greater and a diameter ranging from 6 m to 11.3 mm and a length of 1 m. The expansion of production once again increases the entire portfolio of screws. As a result, our diverse product line-up is expected to have in-house produced screws ranging from 4 x 40 mm to 16 x 3000 mm. All in all, the production of fully threaded screws reflects our greatest production advantage. Furthermore, the in-house plastic division can produce complex, small-part and multi-part plastic parts especially for deck construction and landscaping.
Additional areas that we cover as a company include punching and bending technology as well as aluminium extrusion technology.
